Hello, and welcome!

I am the Education & Communication Coordinator for IMPACTT, a pan-Canadian microbiome research core at the University of Calgary led by Dr. Kathy McCoy.

I am a microbial ecologist by training and have a PhD in Biology from the University of British Columbia, Okanagan where I studied wine microbiology and biochemistry under Dr. Daniel Durall. After that, I worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California San Diego where I studied COVID-19 and the pregnancy microbiome under Dr. Louise Laurent.

I am passionate about science education, and about communicating complex topics in an accessible way.
